Our team is made up of five full-time employees and more than thirty freelance specialists in the areas of programming, linguistics, translations and science. Research
SAFIR implements in-house and third-party research projects in the field of AI translation. In so doing we enable communication without language barriers in economically relevant application fields.
2022
Artificial Intelligence
Since 2022, SAFIR has been investing in the research and development of artificial intelligence. Our goal is to consistently leverage new technologies in our proven business model.
2016
Berlin
The company relocated to Berlin. Jan Neumann became SAFIR’s CTO. Aria Sheva-Goldhammer and Jan Neumann both became shareholders and managing directors.
2010
Expansion
SAFIR began expanding in response to the growing demand for its services in 2010. That is also when Aria Sheva-Goldhammer joined our team. Now a graduate industrial engineer (Dipl.-Wirtschaftsingenieurin), she is SAFIR’s CEO.
1999
Founding
SAFIR was founded in Mannheim, Germany. From the advent of computer-assisted dictionary compilation emerged the idea for corpus-based language development and related software.
Current Research and Development at SAFIR
We are constantly working on developing new AI technologies for secure language systems. We research machine translation and the generation of synthetic training data. In parallel we also develop our own approaches to more quickly train AI models and efficiently integrate large networks of native speakers.

Systematic project workflow
Research, analysis and recruiting
We first research the commissioned industry-specific vocabulary. Then we sort the researched words by frequency (corpus analysis), translate them and develop the corresponding AI models. All this happens working hand in hand with our team of highly trained native speakers who have an affinity for the required language usage.
Engineering
Developing, testing, documentation: Working with our native speakers, we produce translation assistants based on a corpus analysis and then automate word formation. We develop both the front-end and the back-end tools and integrate them into your commercial systems. If desired, we can expand the software to include additional features. The engineering process also includes ongoing monitoring of how the respective language is used.
Project support
We will guide you on using the software in a product training session. You receive one-on-one support directly from our specialists. Maintaining close contact with our clients is one of our top priorities. We ensure quick resolution of any questions that arise and are responsive to your company needs. Project support is an ongoing process in which we pitch you ideas and incorporate yours into the further development of our AI models.
